SMS Alert Opt-In

This page documents FallGuard's SMS alert opt-in process for users, reviewers, and carrier verification.

SMS alert program

FallGuard sends user-requested, transactional SMS alerts about high-confidence possible fall events detected by connected camera clips. Lower-confidence detections may be saved inside FallGuard for review without SMS. Messages are not marketing messages. FallGuard is not a medical emergency device and does not dispatch emergency services.

How users opt in

  1. 1The user logs in at https://www.getfallguard.com/login.
  2. 2The user navigates to Account Security > Profile.
  3. 3The user enters their own mobile phone number in Account SMS alerts.
  4. 4The user checks an unchecked consent box that states: "I agree to receive SMS alerts from FallGuard about possible fall events detected by connected cameras. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not required to purchase the service."
  5. 5The user clicks "Save profile" to enable SMS notifications.

SMS alerts are not enabled unless the user checks the SMS consent box and saves the setting. Users should only enter a mobile number they own for their own FallGuard account.

Account SMS alerts

SMS alerts are sent only to the mobile phone number entered and consented to by the signed-in FallGuard account holder. SMS is used for high-confidence possible fall alerts; lower-confidence detections remain available inside FallGuard for review.

SMS alerts remain disabled unless the user enters a mobile phone number, checks this unchecked consent box, and clicks Save profile.
